Sexually transmittable infections (STIs) is a collective term of illnesses that can transmit by sexual contact.
Symptoms and treatment
Sexually transmittable infections have different symptoms and treatment possibilities. Some, for example the HIV infection, chlamydia or trichomona, you can have had for a long time without visible symptoms. This means that you can be a carrier of the infection for a long time and transmit it to others without knowing about it.
Some sexually transmittable diseases may lead to sterility or reduced fertility. Some may increase the danger of getting cancer. Others, such as HIV or herpes, can not be cured. Some infections, such as HIV and syphilis may be lethal if not treated. What they all have in common is that with the correct use of condom you have good possibilites to eliminate the danger of being infected of transmitting the infection to others.
