(09.12.2008) Children of asylum are enjoying their weekend with lots of fun and learning many things being with the young experienced Red Cross volunteers.
Activities with asylum children are one of the best activities of the Norwegian Red Cross Youth. Similarly, local youth groups of Akershus are also helping asylum children. The Red Cross youth mostly organize many outdoor activities for the asylum children during the weekends. Most of the children share that they are very happy to be part of the activities and love to spend time with the volunteers of the Red Cross Youth. They tell that they have fun and that the volunteers take care of them.
It was an incredible experience to be with the asylum children in Oppegård and Nannestad. The youth groups organize outdoor activities such as playing in the forests, cinema, visiting a Christmas farm and ice-skating.

The Red Cross Youth volunteers also help them to do their homework, and focuse on that education for all is very important. It might be difficult to do homework for those children since it is in a new language for them, so homework help for those children is essential.
