(19.01.2009) I'm very happy that I have been to Dale when the first starting up activity was held. The reason for my presence there was only to see how it will work, but also to encourage the people to join Red Cross youth with my very short greeting speech at the end of the presentation.
It was only 45 minutes with the students in Dale higher secondary school, on which they had given a presentation by Roy Steinslad the young volunteer who is leading the starting up of Dale RC youth, and Susanne Lier Fagerbakke, the leader of Hordaland Red Cross youth. Roy spoke to them about the history of the Red Cross and gave some information about Red Cross in general, while Susanne told them about the Red Cross youth activities, and how they can join them.

The students were very exited about the topic, and they asked a lot of questions about active choice and rules of war.
- Our objective was to represent Red Cross youth activities to the students in Dale school, hoping to get some people to join Red Cross youth, and then start activities in Dale, Said Susanne.

Roy Steinsland, 21 years old, is trying his best to start up the Red Cross youth in Dale. He is hoping to implement some activities in February or March 2009 as a kick start. He is thinking to start with First aid, but also to make some plans for 8th of May as well(Red Cross world day). Luckily, he recruited 16 members after the presentation on Dale school. So let us all wish him good luck on his great work.
